01The challenge
The hardest questions in drug discovery are physical.
AI has made remarkable progress in protein structure prediction, molecular generation, and virtual screening. But the properties that decide whether a drug works — energy landscapes, protein dynamics, transition states, binding free energy, and rare conformations — are governed by quantum physics. Statistical models can approximate them. They cannot resolve them.
